After a nice wander around the Dun Laoghaire Sunday Market, we popped in here for lunch last Sunday and had a lovely experience. The seafood was fresh and beautifully cooked, the service was warm and friendly, and the views over the sea were fantastic. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and tasteful décor. We had a great afternoon and will definitely be back. Highly recommend!
Had a wonderful lunch at Cavistons Restaurant. I had mixed fish, and it was absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of flavour. The staff were very welcoming and made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. The atmosphere was amazing, warm and relaxing, and the view from upstairs was gorgeous. Definitely a place worth visiting in Dublin!
Had a fantastic seafood dinner here today with a friend and it really exceeded expectations. We started with four dishes — the oysters were incredibly fresh and succulent, the beef croquettes were rich and perfectly crisp, the scallops were beautifully cooked, and the seafood fritters were light and full of flavour. For mains, we shared the seafood platter and it was the highlight of the night — monkfish, mussels, clams, and prawns, all cooked to perfection and packed with flavour. The sides complemented everything perfectly — fresh broccoli, green beans with almonds and walnuts, and crispy French fries, all simple but done really well and rounding out the meal nicely. The atmosphere added to the whole experience — chic décor, relaxed but refined, making it a great place to enjoy a proper meal without feeling rushed. A special mention to Elaine, who looked after us throughout the evening — attentive without being intrusive, and genuinely made sure we were enjoying everything. Overall, a really impressive experience from start to finish. Definitely a spot worth coming back to.
The seafood platter jumped off our menu and onto our table! An absolute delight from presentation right through to each fresh and tasty morsel. We ordered a side of spinach and blackrice- new to us, glad we tried it, really nourishing. Plenty in the platter for two. Oh and we had a Seaview upstairs, which elevated our lunch.
Nothing but praise for this restaurant. I had the best meal I have ever had in Ireland, having lived here 20yrs now. We loved the John Dory sharing plate in seafood bisque! Also, the service is delightful. Every waiter was equally charming, a rare surprise these days. This is now officially my favourite restaurant in Ireland!
