My friends and I visited Hana Izakaya Dublin yesterday and it was truly fantastic. The food is incredibly close to authentic Japanese cuisine (no “fake Japanese”) and great quality. We each had a main dish, plus yakitori and sushi to share, and everything was fresh, tasty, and beautifully prepared. We finished with a mochi ice cream that was absolutely delicious. The service was excellent: professional, well‑organized, fast, and attentive. The staff checked in to make sure everything was perfect, and we even had the chance to chat a little with one of the girls working there — she was friendly, kind, and made us feel very welcome. お疲れ様です!またお会いできるのを楽しみにしています。😊

I visited this place because I was interested in trying their sushi rolls served in a tube-shaped box, and the prices were slightly lower than at a similar restaurant nearby. The rolls were absolutely delicious and exceeded my expectations. I was especially grateful that the staff accepted my order just 30 minutes before closing time and made sure I didn't leave hungry. Thank you for that! I also tried Kirin beer for the first time here, and it has quickly become one of my favorite beers. Even the presentation of a single mochi deserves special mention. Instead of simply placing it on a plate, it is beautifully decorated with chocolate sauce and whipped cream, making it feel like a complete dessert experience. The mochi itself was incredible—pleasantly textured, flavorful, and not overly sweet. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!

Love Musashi, so wanted to try this restaurant. But ohhhhh no. No no no. We won’t be coming back. In my husband’s words: “this is the worst food I’ve had in a long time”. Drinks: they were fine but nothing to write home about. Spicy lychee wasn’t at all spiced and tasted like the sour, which wasn’t at all sour. The fried avocado didn’t even have a grain of salt on it. So bland. Skewers were okay. Pork belly had good flavour but wasn’t melt in your mouth pork belly it was very chewy. The steak ones were bland and chewy. The sushi was really meh. The avocado wasn’t ripe and it just generally gave the vibe of the kind of sushi you’d buy in a convenience store fridge. But the katsudon?! That was actually so bad. No flavour whatsoever. The rice was actually inedible. To me it was like when you are incredibly sick and need the blandest food ever just to keep anything down. But worse. And all of this set us back €100. Service: Bad. We came in and gave our name for the reservation. Not a word in response and the guy eventually meandered out to lead us to our table silently. It was so strange. A server spilled hot soup on my husband. They were clearing my plates while my husband was still eating so it felt rushed. It’s a nice vibe inside but such an incredible let down. Won’t be back.

We had such a lovely evening at this izakaya in Dublin. The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful, and it really feels like stepping into Japan for a little while. The yakitori were AMAZING, honestly just like the ones you’d find in Japan; If you’re looking for something authentic, this is it! They also have a great selection of sake, and the cocktails were also delicious and beautifully made. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. We had the best time and we’ll definitely be coming back soon💕Highly recommend! ✨

A delightful dining experience here on New Year’s Eve. The staff were very friendly and helpful and all the dishes tasted amazing. Having been to Japan it’s often hard to find decent Japanese food that compares but this was a truly authentic taste. The blue fin tuna sashimi was very good value with decent portion sizes. All the cocktails can be made alcohol free which was a nice surprise but they also offered a very nice 0% Kirin beer. Lots of choices on the food menu but the deep fried avocado was definitely a stand out surprise choice! Happily recommend the vegetable tempura and the minced chicken skewers! My only gripe would be that some of the table selection says “kitchen front counter” which I took to mean you could see inside the kitchen (which I quite like to do) but this isn’t the case as the kitchen view is obstructed by bottles and decoration. So if you think you are booking this to get a kitchen view then just know that’s not the case. Other than that everything was brilliant!
