Had such a lovely experience at Doolally! The food was absolutely delicious, the staff were so friendly and welcoming, and the venue itself is beautiful and so aesthetic. Everything from the food to the atmosphere was amazing, definitely somewhere I’d recommend! 🤍
Doolally was one of the highlights of my visit to Dublin. The food was excellent . I ordered the Butter Chicken with basmati rice and garlic naan, and everything was full of flavor. The chicken was tender, the sauce was rich and well-balanced, and the garlic naan was the perfect complement to the meal. The portions were generous and the quality of the ingredients was evident. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The staff made the experience enjoyable from start to finish. The atmosphere was also very welcoming, with a comfortable ambiance that worked well for both a casual meal and a more relaxed dining experience. Overall, a great restaurant with excellent food, good service, and a pleasant atmosphere. I would gladly return the next time I’m in Dublin and would recommend it to anyone looking for quality Indian food.
I have mixed feelings about our visit to Doolally. I’m giving it 3 stars solely because the main dish itself tasted quite good, but everything else about the experience—from the value to the service—left a lot to be desired. The biggest shock was the portion sizing and pricing structure. A €28 main course does not come with a side, which must be purchased separately. This is baffling considering most Indian dishes are inherently meant to be eaten with rice or naan. To make matters worse, the main dish was literally the exact same size as the side bowl of rice. Interestingly, if you order from Doolally on Deliveroo, you actually get rice with your main for free, which makes the dine-in pricing policy feel like a rip-off. When the sides did arrive, the pilau rice had almost no flavor and was completely under-seasoned—something that is practically unheard of in Indian cuisine. The service started out okay, but once the food was served, our server completely disappeared. Later, the dessert menus were dropped off at our table, but after waiting about 25 minutes, absolutely no one came back to check on us or take an order. Frustrated, we finally just asked for the bill, which brought the final shock of the night: we were charged for tap water. I don't think I would recommend Doolally or visit again. There are multiple other Indian options both inside and outside Dublin city center that offer much bigger portions, better value, and far superior service.
This is one of the best Indians I’ve had in years. Service was good, food fantastic and we all left far too full up! (Might be our fault for having kebabs as starters). The mango chicken kebab was absolutely fantastic, probably the best thing I ate whilst in Dublin. Fancy restaurant inside, clearly a popular date spot too. Not a cheap one but well worth it
