These are our top eats in Dublin. King Sitric in Howth, the crab is so fresh the menu tells you who caught it. Cracking pint of Guinness. This is short walk from the tdain station, right at the end of Howths Marina, and using the DART from Dublin is super easy. Super friendly staff, we arrived just before lunch started, so they could fit us in without a booking. Great little stop, to start or end your walk around the peninsula. Get the crab claws you wont regret it.
Really tasty food, but in our opinion a bit overpriced (you can eat this type of food, same portion and taste for way cheaper). The place is cozy and the service was kind and friendly. However, when we arrived home and started splitting the bill, we noticed a big tip was already added to the bill. We weren’t informed about this in advance or even during paying. What’s more we gave a tip by our own, so now we really regret giving a tip since they took extra tip without asking or informing. There were only three of us, so it wasn’t a large group where such charges are usually expected („service tip”). Clearer communication about this would be nice and feel transparent and professional, because it left us with bad after taste.
Had the most amazing meal of our lives at King Sitric last week! We were able to sit out on the terrace, and the sea breeze was delightful. We ordered cocktails, and then worked our way through a sea food lunch. Oysters, mussels, prawns, crab claws and finished it off with lobster. And the service was phenomenal. Connor was the absolute sweetest and made sure we had everything we needed, and then some. It was the best experience we've had at a restaurant in a long time!
We had a fabulous meal recently that was made so much more enjoyable by your staff. I can't remember being anywhere in a long time where all of the staff were so friendly, engaging and happy. We were mainly served by Laura S who was exceptional in looking after us and the kids, but everyone else we dealt with was also equally as good. You obviously have a great team, but also a great culture to have everyone so happy and engaged. Not many places manage to achieve this.
Brought to King Sitric by local friends as part of festive weekend - rugby/St Patrick's. Tremendous Sunday evening - superb craich, supreme food & tasty wines. Bisque was divine, crab delicious and even fish burger was so well presented. Our enjoyment might have mildly spilled into over-exubriance, so we would apologise if any other diners' meal might have been affected. Staff were worthy of particular highlight - immensely helpful, tolerant and all-round happy folk. Hence, atmosphere was authentically warm. Great value, lovely location, wonderful food & people. More than happy to commend King Sitric to others.
