Jig, the Story of Irish Dance
Dublin
Located at the theatre within the Powerscourt Centre, Jig is a stirring show featuring world-class performers which takes audiences through the history of Irish Dance, explaining the complex movement involved.
Like the idea of a more hands-on (feet-on?) experience? There's also 'Hop Up', an interactive option for those who want to learn to dance themselves. Take to the floor and try something new! This is brilliant entertainment for families, friends and corporate events - suitable for all ages.
The price of admission to either show includes free access to the Irish Dance Museum (the first of its kind in Ireland, also located here at the Powerscourt). After the high-energy excitement of the performance, here you can reflect on Ireland's rich dance heritage as you view a collection of dresses, photos and other dance memorabilia.
Nevermind Riverdance, this is the real deal...or should that be reel deal. Sorry, I'll get my coat...
