Don't let the popularity of the pre-theatre menu put you off - Chapter One is a damn fine lunch or dinner experience in its own right.
The highly accomplished and regularly awarded kitchen is considered to be a prime example of the best in modern Irish cooking, and the dining room is the height of comfort and hospitality. Elegant but unpretentious, this is one to savour.
You'll find Chapter One in the basement of the Dublin Writers Museum, next to the Dublin City Gallery (the Hugh Lane) in an historic building which was once the home of the Jameson Whiskey family.
The restaurant is closed on Sundays and Mondays, and Chapter One takes their annual holidays during the first two weeks of August and for two weeks at Christmas from the 24th of December.
