Jameson Distillery Bow St.
Dublin
When you visit Jameson Distillery Bow St., during Jameson Distillery Bow St. Tour you're taken on a journey through the remarkable history of Jameson Irish Whiskey on Bow Street in Smithfield - where John Jameson established his distillery over 225 years ago.
One of the top attractions in Dublin, this is a mini-education in the fine art of whiskey making, capped off with a complimentary glass of 'the world's finest whiskey' at the end (with a mixer, if you're so inclined). Plus there's an opportunity to become a Qualified Irish Whiskey Taster - if you're one of the lucky volunteers selected for this honour.
The experience begins with a short film entitled 'The Story of Jameson Whiskey'. From there, the walking tour begins - you'll be taken through the eight stages of the distilling process, then finally...there's that much-anticipated visit to the Jameson Discovery Bar.
Along with the tour itself, there's enough eating, drinking and shopping on site to keep you busy for the best part of an afternoon.
Before or after the tour you can sample delicious cocktails (made with Jameson, naturally) in JJ's Bar - on a recent visit we sipped a Jameson Apricot Sour (Jameson, pressed apple, lemon juice and apricot puree) and a Jameson Macree (Jameson, fresh raspberries, raspberry puree, lemon juice, sugar syrup, raspberry liqueur, cranberry juice). Yummy. Or pop up to the Jameson Reserve Bar to savour some of the finest Premium Reserve Range whiskeys that Jameson offer.
Located on the mezzanine beside the Jameson Reserve Bar, the 3rd Still Restaurant serves lunch and a late afternoon menu daily. Booking is strongly recommended to avoid disappointment - call or e-mail to make a reservation.
With clothing, glassware, nifty gifty things, edible treats and loads of Jamesoniana, The Jameson Gift Store and Whiskey Shop is not only for tour-takers, but is also open to the public in general. This is the place to get genuine Jameson-branded merchandise unavailable in any other gift shop in Dublin. Grab a memento of the tour or souvenirs for family and friends.
Walk-in visitors are welcome. Tours last about an hour and run approximately every 20 minutes, with the last tour of the day beginning at 5.15pm.
Opening Times: Mon-Sat 9.00am-6.00pm, Sun 10.00am-6.00pm. 3rd Still: Lunch 12.00pm-3.30pm, Afternoon Menu 3.30-4.45pm. Closed Good Friday, Dec 24th, 25th & 26th.
