Since it opened in 1998 (and was extended in 2002), Vicar Street has become one of Dublin's best-loved venues for comedy and music, hosting a fantastic range of events. Just the right size to appeal to international stars and still feel relatively intimate, its capacity ranges from 1000-1500.
To ensure you don't get overly parched as you're being entertained, the five bars at Vicar Street are open on each show night from 7pm, and drinks are permitted into the auditorium for most shows. If you'd like to stay on for a while after the lights go up, the bars remain open after the shows also.
