Absolutely delicious! Will definitely be returning. Must visit when in Dublin! Will be visiting again soon. Lovely atmosphere too. Black Dover sole is a big recommendation for here. Very accommodating to dietary needs.
If you don't know which dessert to choose from the menu - no problem. They will bring you all the desserts that are available, you can easily choose the one to your taste. I attached all the types to the photo. I want to note the matcha latte - here it is the most delicious. In another photo, there is a crab sandwich - I didn't check out this dish, because the spicy spices lose the taste of the crab - it is not noticeable. The waiters are very friendly, the interior is beautiful and the view from the window is lovely 😍😍😍
I had such a lovely experience at Trocadero. It’s one of the oldest restaurants in Dublin, and you can really feel that sense of history as soon as you walk in. Our waiter even took the time to share a bit of the restaurant’s story, which made the evening feel even more special. The atmosphere is beautiful and very romantic, perfect for a relaxed and memorable night. The service was outstanding, our waiter was incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure everything was just right. The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavour and beautifully presented. Overall, I truly enjoyed my time there and would definitely come back. Such a charming and special place in Dublin.
Spent the evening here with my partner for his birthday - we are both in our early 20's, which normally shouldn't affect our dining experience but it seems it did last Sunday. The atmosphere itself was amazing, with dim lighting and cozy seats. We had the corn ribs as starters, then I had a medium rare steak with mash and my partner the lamb with potatoes, and we shared a creme brulee for dessert. We also shared a bottle of white wine from NZ. The food itself was really nice, only critiques would be that the corn ribs had way too much seasoning on them so we drank all our water halfway through the starter - we aren't normally bad with spices, yet we were both tearing up eating them. Maybe a suggestion would be to bring them down a notch, as my partner's been here before and said they weren't so spicy last time. Unfortunately, I don't think I would come back here due to the service. For an outing in a more expensive restaurant than usual in Dublin, you would expect better treatment. The hosts themselves who brought us to our table were lovely - smiling, walking us in etc. Our waiter was a different story. I am not sure if she just had a bad day, because we heard her be blunt and seemingly snappy with other guests, or if it was the fact she was serving 2 20 year olds, even if we were well-dressed and respectful. She did not smile during our visit whatsoever, and when taking first orders, she asked us what we'd like, then turned away while I was talking, and then snapped back asking what I wanted again. This felt super rude, and I am not sure why one would come for orders if you're so preoccupied. My partner himself works as a waiter, and agreed there's no decent reason for this. The diner itself wasn't packed, so I don't think that'd be the cause. The entire time, we felt treated as though we're below her, which we tried to not let impact our dining experience. During our corn ribs as well, we were not checked up on, despite the empty water bottle and her walking by multiple times. We ended up flagging down a different waiter to help us, as it got to the point we felt uncomfortable by her. The rest of the experience was similar. We left a €14 tip nevertheless (10% of our meal) and it didn't meet our expectations, which is unfortunate as my partner's experience with his family before here has been really good, and this place was on our list for some time now. I am not sure if the waitress had a bad day and took it out on us, or if it was something to do with age, but I've never been treated like this after years of dining in similar restaurants.
It was our first time in Trocadero and what an experience we had , we were met by our hostess Mary who brought us to our seats for two , we started with Scallops , Smoked Salmon & Chicken Liver Pate and some Ruby40 Cocktails , our mains were Fillet Steak with Mash , Chips and Mushroom & Onions cooked perfectly to the request taken my Martin our server , desert was pistachio cheesecake which was just next level , we finished up with cappuccino and tea , Mary even ran down the road after us when we had left as my wife had left her glasses behind , Martin’s service was really really excellent throughout the meal , all in all this would really be hard to beat and exceptionally good value for money for produce and service provided . The staff the food the atmosphere make this an absolute must when in Dublin or our case going forward , thanks Mary , Martin and Trocadero it was lovely experience to be with you on Easter Sunday we will definitely be back
