We reserved for 1730, a table of 3 we took the Caesar salad which was great, the steak frites( fries were great, steak was chewy and we returned it) and the exceptional duck. They kindly replaced the steak with a good tortellini. The service was good, food was decent. We came from abroad and expected something a bit better, but all in all good.
Amazing food, the vegan curry is absolutely divine. Chips are really good too. We were lucky to get a walk in and sat at the bar, the atmosphere was great and the restaurant was gorgeous. A bit loud and overwhelming at the bar, but the drinks made up for it. My only complaint is that I didn’t get pilaf rice as advertised on the menu, and the rice I did get wasn’t that nice. However, the rest of the meal made up for it. Will be back.
We had a wonderful celebratory lunch with our parents, who were visiting us from South Africa. Jamie and his team can certainly be proud of both the culinary staff and the front-of-house team. The attentiveness provided by the servers was truly world-class. Our starters were incredibly appetizing, and both the main courses and desserts were exceptional. The Beef Tortellini and baked Scallops were among the notable highlights, and they were offered at reasonable prices. We found absolutely nothing to fault, and this will undoubtedly be a lunch we cherish in our memories. We certainly look forward to returning again soon!
I would like to say the service was the best element, because they were amazing! However, the food was also fantastic, it was delicious and our plates went back clean. Their staff were so refreshing, they were attentive, polite and made you feel like you were their priority. At no stage did we feel rushed or that they were waiting to turn over the table, especially at peak dining hour and with a busy restaurant. I had the chicken vol-au-vent, which was very tasty and surprisingly light, followed by a rare steak, which was cooked to perfection and they kindly gave me a peppercorn sauce on the side when I asked for it. My partner had the scotch egg which he loved and the duck, which came with a side of his choosing, again the plate went back clean, he loved it. We split panna cotta with rhubarb and pistachio praline for dessert, again it reached the mark, scrumptious. We will definitely be back, as we had a great time and would like to explore the rest of the menu. Again I would like to highlight their staff, service goes a long way! Great atmosphere, very busy and buzzing, yet you could easily have a conversation and didn't feel intruded by the table beside you or that they could hear you!. Also... fab espresso martinis!
I have to say for how busy it was, service was impeccable and the food was cooked to perfection. Made sure to get ourselves a nice bottle of wine to top it off. If you're in Dublin, I would definitely make a note of booking a table, you won't be disappointed.
