Description

Take local bus through the backroads of the Dublin foothills to a remote mountain village. Following a meandering mountain path, visit an ancient burial “”wedge”” tomb from the second millennium B.C., nestled in a forest. Continuing along the Dublin Mountains Way, arrive at a popular vantage point and take in the panoramic views over Dublin and the bay area, perched on a mountain top rock. Depending in the season, pause to pick some delicious wild berries, to add to cream or ice-cream later, or just eat as is! Continuing along a ridge, with views of Dublin to the north, and Wicklow to the south, arrive at a second burial tomb, this time an ancient stone circle and burial pace of the man for whom the mountain top upon which it sits is named. After a leisurely wander down a meandering path through an evergreen forest, followed by a rural back-road, arrive at a quaint, rustic, cafe and restaurant to enjoy a well earned lunch made of local produce and cuisine. An Alternative bus returns back to the finish point via a different but equally enchanting route.
