Description
On day one, depart Dublin for a two-hour drive along the Peace Highway to Belfast. Stop at St. Peter’s Cathedral in Drogheda to see the preserved head of St. Oliver Plunkett. Visit the ruins of Monasterboice, featuring a 10th-century round tower and 9th-century Celtic crosses carved by monks.
Arrive in Belfast with two hours of free time for shopping or lunch. Optionally, take a Black Taxi Tour of the Falls and Shankill Roads. Then visit the Titanic Belfast museum for a two-hour immersive experience covering the ship’s design, construction, and maiden voyage.
Overnight accommodation is in Belfast’s university quarter.
Day two starts with a drive through County Antrim to the north coast. Stop to photograph the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge with views of Rathlin Island. Continue to the Giant’s Causeway to explore its 40,000 hexagonal basalt columns formed 60 million years ago.
