Description
Step into a creative and intimate environment where you will explore the evolution of Irish writing from ancient Ogham to Cló Gaelach script. Hosted in carefully selected Dublin venues such as the LAB, Segotia, and Priory Market, each session remains personal with small group sizes.
The workshop is divided into three parts:
- The History & The Tongue: Trace the origins of Irish writing, view historical prints including the Irish Constitution, learn about the influence of Irish on Hiberno-English, and practice basic Irish phrases.
- The Art of the Pen: Practice the strokes of Cló Gaelach using specially designed sheets, studying authentic texts from the 20th century.
- The Masterpiece: Write a poem selected from a 100-year-old Irish poetry book by a local female poet, creating a personal connection to Irish culture.
After the session, you receive a digital resource pack with further reading sources, Irish language learning links, and a curated playlist of modern Irish music featured during the workshop, enabling you to continue your cultural exploration.
