George's Street Arcade
Dublin
George's Street Arcade is Europe's (and Ireland's) oldest shopping centre. Less than five minutes' walk from Temple Bar, this red-brick beauty packs in a wide variety of boutiques and kiosks.
There are approximately 50 tenants varying in size from Dunnes Stores supermarket (the biggest) to small sidewalk stalls. The delights of this hidden gem include shops selling clothing, accessories, jewellery (both custom-designed and costume), and music plus outlets for collectibles, ornaments, souvenirs, books, original artwork, speciality foods, flowers and more.
The George's Street Arcade may be the picture of restored Victorian elegance, but that doesn't mean they don't keep up with the times - free WiFi is available. Other on-site services range from sophisticated hair styling to body piercing to fortune telling. And before, during or after your browsing and buying, you can enjoy a delicious snack or a full meal in a variety of food stalls and sit-down eateries.
So don't miss a chance to separate from the milling throngs and wander over from nearby Grafton Street - you'll discover a wonderful arcade which has been serving Dublin since 1882.
