Booked an open area for a work party for 50+ people and can’t say enough about how good the experience was. Great food, drinks as well as pleasant helpful staff. Will definitely book again.
Visited this place for Dublin Cocktail Week. Not very much impressed. We ordered the signature cocktail and whoever made them forgot to add the main ingredient. Had to ask to redo the drinks. Also ordered their deal 2 cocktails and 2 pizzas. Pizzas were not bad, but please dont call it a prosciutto pizza when it had a thick layer of rocket and barely any prosciutto. The Wednesday Adams cocktails were ok. When the time came to pay the bill we have been overcharged as the staff forgot they had that deal with pizzas. They did refund us afterwards, when my friend spotted it but with so many mistakes made on one visit I wouldn't say it was a great experience, unfortunately.
Nice place overall. We visited as a group for pizza and a few drinks. The restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived, which made for a relaxed atmosphere. The food and drinks were enjoyable, although it felt slightly expensive for what you receive, but not unreasonably so. The male bartender was excellent—friendly, attentive, and professional. A younger waitress initially took our order and was very pleasant as well. Unfortunately, our experience was let down somewhat by another member of staff. About halfway through our meal, an older woman came over, placed the bill on the table without saying anything, and walked away. We were a little confused, as we had only been there for around 25 minutes in total and the restaurant was largely empty, so it didn't seem related to needing the table back. We then ordered a second round of drinks while finishing our food. Although we still had some food left and had not been offered dessert menus, the same staff member returned and asked us to pay the bill. I politely explained that we would settle the bill once we had finished, as we might order desserts. She responded by asking if we wanted any desserts, to which I replied that we would decide once we had finished eating. She then walked away without responding. What was most disappointing was that she then appeared to complain about us loudly to other members of staff, which we found unprofessional and uncomfortable. The other staff members seemed to pay little attention, and everyone else we dealt with was pleasant. Overall, it's a nice venue with good food and some excellent staff, but the service from one staff member unfortunately took away from what would otherwise have been a very positive experience.
We chose The Jar for our event, and it was absolutely the right choice. The private space looked fantastic, the atmosphere was spot on, and the staff were incredibly attentive. A special thanks to Thelma for showing us around and helping us pick the perfect space for our event. We’d definitely recommend it!
