Wonderful stay here. Excellent breakfast. The new hydrotherapy experience in the spa was also great for our weary legs after a hard race and a lot of walking through town. Great location for exploring Dublin.
Awesome hotel, with very friendly staff, great breakfast and small dinner menu. Unique and tasty drink menu. Centrally located and an easy walk or Hop-On, Hop-Off bus stops. The only negative would be that it's a favorite for other Americans so an immersion Irish experience is left at the entrance. But as a first time experience, it was right on. A good craic, as the locals would say.
Hotel room was very spacious for the two of us and very comfortable. The front desk staff was outstanding and really went above and beyond for our stay there, between surprising us with a congratulations on our marriage and hailing a taxi to take us to pick up our rental car. Can not speak more highly of the staff. You all are fantastic.
We just stayed at the Davenport for 2 nights while in Dublin. Here are our thoughts: Location: Wonderful. Super walkable and safe. No complaints. Rooms: They were small but clean. The bathrooms were VERY small and didn't have a fan. It stays super humid for hours after a shower. There was little counter space either. The outlets had lots of issues and we had to call electrical up a few times to help us. TV doesn't have any streaming options (only local channels). Our beds made a sound whenever we flipped over or moved around and the nightstands didn't fit the room. The one in between our twin beds was too big so they have it turned sideways. It was odd. Rooms had thin walls and we could hear our neighbor coughing often. Food: We only had the breakfast buffet and it was OK. I just had the pastries, hashbrowns and some fruit and they were good. The ambiance in the main floor restaurant was lovely.
Had a wonderful 2 day stay here on our first trip to Ireland. First day we checked in and went to the bar to have a pint. Kerry was our server and made us feel welcomed. Next day at breakfast, Evelyn was our server. They both went above and beyond to accommodate us and made our stay a great experience. Great hotel, staff and location. Highly recommend.
