Description
Depart from central Dublin by comfortable coach, crossing into Northern Ireland via the M1 motorway. Notice the change from miles to kilometres as you enter the UK. Along the route, enjoy views of the Glens of Antrim, Whitepark Bay, Portbradden, the Causeway Coast, Mull of Kintyre, Rathlin Island, and, on clear days, the Scottish coast.
Your first stop is the Dark Hedges, a historic avenue of intertwining beech trees planted in the 1700s by the Stuart family. Known for appearances in Game of Thrones and Transformers, this scenic location offers a brief photo opportunity.
Next, visit the ruins of Dunluce Castle, the former McDonnell clan residence and filming location for Game of Thrones. Entrance is included for a guided tour of this dramatic medieval site. Afterwards, drive along the Causeway Coastal route between Dunluce and Ballycastle, renowned for its dramatic landscape.
Enjoy time for lunch at a local pub, café, or restaurant with various options available, or bring your own packed lunch.
The main attraction, Giant’s Causeway, features 37,000 basalt columns formed by volcanic activity. Learn the local legend of warrior giant Fionn from your guide, then spend at least 90 minutes exploring the site.
The tour concludes with an orientation drive of Belfast, highlighting City Hall, Victoria Square, and the Titanic Dockyard where the RMS Titanic was built in 1912. Return to downtown Dublin in the evening, allowing time for dinner or evening plans.
