Urban Rest Merrion Square
Dublin
Reviews
Good location in a pleasant and quiet area. We were accommodated in apartment 5. Very difficult access, 60 narrow stairs, many of them spiral. Needless to say, with luggage, it was a nightmare! The shower malfunctioned and the temperature regulator was broken. We reported it, but they didn't fix it. Extremely inefficient. Very superficial cleaning. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
We enjoyed our stay here, overall. Only 2 problems. Did not receive instructions for entry prior to arriving, so I had to call to get the code to get in which cost me international minutes and charges on my cell phone bill. Also, lugging 2.5 weeks of luggage up 4 flights of stairs wasn’t very fun. Overall, it’s a great quiet location and still within walking distance to all the great things Dublin has to offer. We did not want to stay in the Temple Bar area, so this was excellent for us. Had a bed, a small kitchen and eating table, a little tv and couch. Was nice and cozy considering we don’t spend much time in our room when we travel. Just need a place to sleep and maybe eat some takeaway.
Staying at Urban Rest is a pure pleasure. We stayed in apartment no. 4. The apartments combine elegance with homely functionality, which is evident from the very entrance to this stylish townhouse. ✅️ Equipment and Amenities The apartment is exceptionally well-equipped, making it ideal for longer stays: ✅️ Kitchen: A fully functional kitchenette with a modern induction cooktop, oven, and microwave. Guests have access to a Nespresso coffee machine with a supply of capsules, an electric kettle and toaster, as well as a microwave. A full set of kitchenware is also provided, including frying pans, plates, pots, cups, and cutlery. Basic spices are available: salt, pepper, olive oil, and tea. Milk, water, and popcorn are available in the refrigerator. A kind gesture. 🧯 There are fire extinguishers in the hallway, and a fire blanket in the apartment. 👕 Laundry: A washing machine is included, which is a huge plus. 🛋 Living room and bedroom: A cozy living room with a comfortable sofa and TV offers views of the classic architecture. The bedroom has a large, comfortable bed with a set of fresh towels. 🛁 Bathroom: Modern and clean, equipped with a spacious shower with a rain shower head. ✅️ Safety and design: The interiors are bright and decorated with attention to detail, and guests' safety is ensured by features such as a fire blanket installed in the kitchen. The apartment is located in a very safe neighborhood surrounded by several embassies. The city center is approximately 20 minutes away on foot. ➡️ Practical information Two organizational aspects are worth noting: ♿️ Accessibility: Due to the stairs and the specific entrance to the building, the property is not accessible to people with disabilities. Apartment 4 is located on the second floor, so you have to carry your suitcases up the stairs yourself. It was fine for us, but for an elderly person, it could be a real hassle. 🏷 Security Deposit: A €200 security deposit is required upon check-in, which is refundable after a few days if there's no damage. 🏢 Very efficient communication with the staff and prompt responses to questions increase your sense of security and comfort. You enter the apartment using a code, so you don't have to carry keys. Check-in details are sent 24 hours before arrival. ❌️ Cons: The downside is the inability to leave luggage after check-out. Late check-out is available, but it costs an additional €100. We left our suitcases in a storage room about 15 minutes away. ❌️ No dishwashing liquid. ❌️ No dishwasher. To sum up, I would definitely recommend Urban Rest to anyone looking for high standards and a great location.
