Mount Street Suites
Dublin
Beoordelingen
Well, the room itself was nicely appointed, and had all the makings of a fabulous stay. However, it was not ready for prime time, as I booked the property for a two night stay based on the fact that it had AC, which turned out not to be the case. We stayed in the 5th unit (5th floor) with no lift (I guess I could live with that, provided there was a functioning AC in the upper floor on one of the hottest recent days in Dublin (approximately 85 degrees upon our arrival). Additionally, the included wifi was not able to be utilized, which meant we had to use our phone data for the duration of our stay (this also made the tv useless since it operated off the wifi). After given the wifi password, it proved to be incorrect, and this never got remedied during our stay, along with the AC. The young lady who managed the property, although responsive in the beginning and seemingly proactive about addressing the issues, informed us that the AC would most likely not be able to be fixed (but did provide us with a new fan to try and ease the burden of the high heat in the upper floor of the property). She also stated that the wifi tech would be on-site at 0930 the next morning (not sure if this happened, but I do know that the wifi issue never got remedied, and the manager ghosted me when I inquired about it later that day). In fact I never heard another peep until I informed her that we had checked out of the unit the following morning. To which, she replied that she hopes we enjoy our remaining time on holiday. I guess the AC problem wouldn't have been as much of an issue, had it not been for the unusually high temps, but we knew this was a possibility, hence the booking of a property advertised as having AC. Since we had only a fan to move the hot air around, we left the windows open to take advantage of any sort of cross breeze. This did help in the evening and early morning, but also made the noise from the street more prevalent (as well as the dumpster smell from the nearby businesses leaving their trash out for collection the night we checked in). I could tell that the owners/investors had definitely put a ton of work (and $$$) into the renovation of the units, but just a little polishing and the ability to respond to issues seemed to be lacking in these early stages of renting them out (i.e. be proactive as to the status of the unit and overtly communicate those issues in a timely fashion to the renters, as well as make concessions when no resolution is able to be reached on issues that affect the quality of the stay). I reached out over booking.com to inquire about the possibility of refunding a portion of the cost, no response as of yet. I will update this review based on the outcome of that inquiry.
Great 👍
