I had a great overnight stay at Castleknock Hotel while traveling for business. The check-in process was quick and efficient, and the staff were welcoming and professional throughout my stay. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet, making it easy to relax after a busy day. The bed was very comfortable, and the Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, which was ideal for catching up on work. I also enjoyed the excellent breakfast, with plenty of fresh and tasty options to choose from. Overall, Castleknock Hotel is a great choice for business travellers, offering a comfortable stay, excellent service, and convenient facilities. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend it.
This hotel is beautifully decorated. The entrance is large and spacious with a coffee dock. The hotel is quite large therefore, very busy and can be noisy in the public areas. There is also alot of children running around. Just be mindful of that if you are looking for a quieter night away. They do have an adult only bar which is plus as its much quieter and cosy. Our room was fantastic with elemis products and a dyson hair dryer it was also nice and quiet for a great night's sleep. The food is lovely here and the cocktails. But it is very pricy. I would absolutely come here again. It was a lovely night away
Pretty fancy hotel. The good: - Great gym, plenty of weights and machines as well as dumbells and cardio equipment. No resistance bands or foam rollers. Very busy. - Solid pool/sauna. Pool requires a cap, sauna/hottub/coldplunge do not. Changerooms were busy and could use a clean but nothing horendous. Sauna was smoking hot, exactly the way i like it. - The breakfast buffet was a true full irish breakfast with lots of fruit and healthy options to boot. Coffee is on request and costs a fortune if not included. The food was fresh and delicious. Wife is GF and they had GF options for her (bread and sausage) The bad: The hotel smells weird. Like an old ladies perfume. The interior is pretty fancy so maybe it's a vibe they're going for? If you have sensitivity to scents be mindful. The room has carpet. 🤷 Overall a great experience and staff were phenomenal.
The hotel itself is lovely, very kind and courteous staff. The restaurants have delightful food and the coffee from the coffee stand is strong. However, if you’re booking because you have young children, please note - The pool hours are not ideal (opens to children around 10a, closes to children around 6p - hours vary slightly by the day) so you can’t go when the kids wake up early or after a day of adventuring. This was an huge disappointment because we come back from exploring Dublin with the intent of getting some extra energy out at the pool before bed and they cannot go and we aren’t at the hotel in the middle of the day. Additionally, the pool has a lot of scum build up in the tiles and was quite off putting. There was also no communication at check in or when entering the pool that we saw noting that you need to bring a euro to use the locker (you get it back after) but I don’t carry money with me to the pool so we had to go back to our room so we could use a locker to store our belongings. The play structure in the back of the hotel is minimal but was nice to use while waiting for dinner to be served. They gift bags for each child were adorable and the stuffies inside are very soft, both of our children quickly became attached to them. Lastly, if you have a western facing room, it can be warm at night but there is a fan available to help cool the room. The rooms are standard hotel rooms, nothing too fancy either way but efficient. Beds were moderately comfortable but the pillows are quite nice!
This is a nice hotel with nice infrastructure, It has a little playground which is good for very young children. Parking good, Access to golf good, but it is located a bit in the middle of nowhere, not close to anything, if you have a car Dublin is not too far away. The hotel AI assistant was worse than useless, I asked where to top up a water bottle, it answered 6 hours later. The background music (Jazz) was horrendous jazz, very annoying, off-putting and ruined the peace a quiet. In the restaurant all of our tables were wonky and rattled and overbalanced as we tried to eat. When we ordered our food it arrived much too quickly, 4 adult and 1 child meal arrived at our table in less than 10 minutes, that is not fresh food, nor was it cooked to order, it was waiting to go, fast food. There was not enough staff for the regular guests when a wedding was taking place. 3 times I was told I would have to go to a different bar just to get a drink with the staff member citing the hotel being understaffed as the reason. Trying to use the fridge in our room was a nightmare, the fridge rattled around loose in a cupboard and wedged when you tried to use it, making it almost impossible to open. Having to walk through reception in a gown and slippers to get to the pool or spa is simply unacceptable, it put us off using the facilities, and when sitting in reception for a coffee and a read at a paper, watching a parade of all shapes and sizes walking through is not acceptable, in short it is not what you would expect in a quality hotel. Overall it was a nice 2 night break, and if the hotel was to sort out some of the issued highlighted, it could be an even nicer break. 4 Stars at very best.
