The hotel staff most especially Tom Rick were very welcoming. Tom Rick is a lovely man who was cleaning the rooms and was so cheerful and happy and helpful he deserves a raise a bonus and a promotion! What a lovely man he is.
In regards to the pub (not the hotel), great food and drink; the pizzas especially are lovely, mostly reasonable prices, and mostly friendly staff. Free sauces! Would not recommend the portions of fruit or ice cream however, as they're very small for the price and the ice cream usually arrives melted. Cozy atmosphere, quiet in the afternoon and busy in the evenings. Lovely outdoor area! Great location too.
Room is a nice size, clean and comfortable. My room was on the busy Camden Street Upper. So I would advise ear plugs when you sleep. Disappointed that the Irish breakfast does not contain white pudding? It’s good guests have access to the tea and coffee stations. Free WiFi as well. I love the history of the place, and all the different rooms in the restaurant. Staff I found were friendly. For my first stay in a ‘spoons hotel, it wasn’t bad and you get what you pay for. For a cheap way to get transport to Dublin airport, there is a conveniently placed bus stop near the entrance where you can catch the no.16 Dublin bus! Would probably stay again if I have the opportunity to come to Dublin.
