Description

Join our Licensed Local Guide on a captivating journey through Dublin, a city steeped in rich history and vibrant culture. Our group walking tour covers the most iconic landmarks and attractions, and includes skip-the-line tickets (with audioguide) to the Book of Kells exhibition at the Old Library in Trinity College! Come and discover Irish treasures and legends! This 3-hour walking tour is an essential experience of Dublin. We begin our exciting adventure by meeting our guide in front of Christ Church Cathedral, one of Dublin’s most majestic landmarks. Founded nearly a thousand years ago, this stunning cathedral stands as a symbol of the city’s medieval heart and religious heritage. From there, we’ll continue to explore Dublin’s rich history and architecture — passing by the elegant Georgian City Hall and entering the inner courtyards of Dublin Castle, once the centre of British rule in Ireland (entrance tickets not included). As we stroll through the historic city centre, we’ll also discover hidden gems such as St Andrew’s Church and the Molly Malone Monument, which comes with a fascinating local legend. Along the way, our guide will share stories about Irish whiskey, Irish beer, Irish rock’n’roll, and Irish film — painting a vivid picture of Dublin’s cultural soul. We’ll uncover traces of Viking settlements, tales of Anglo-Norman kings, and monuments commemorating key moments in Irish history such as the Great Irish Famine. Our journey will then lead us across the River Liffey into the vibrant Temple Bar district, Dublin’s cultural quarter and hub of lively pubs, galleries, and street music. Finally, we’ll end our tour at the Book of Kells Exhibition and the Old Library at Trinity College. Dating back to 1712, this magnificent library holds over 200,000 books, including the world-famous Book of Kells – a rare medieval manuscript celebrated for its intricate illustrations and calligraphy. Skip-the-line tickets and an audio-guided tour are included for this popular attraction. Come and discover this extraordinary cultural treasure of Ireland!
