As a first timer in Dublin, this was the pub that we heard and was recommended to. It was near our hotel and we strolled in, and it was perfect. We arrived just as the music was starting, the atmosphere was exactly what you imagined and hoped for in an Irish pub. There were even a couple of people cheering and even dancing along with the music. The food was great, and honestly their Guinness and Beef Stew was amazing! Fair warning, expect to wait a little in the evening because it can get crowded. We were lucky enough to get a table when we entered. You’ll have a great time with your favorite drink too.
I was recommended this location by my tour guide and it turned out to be a good choice. I was fortunate to be given a seat close to the stage which is rare for a solo traveler. The staff were friendly, attentive and quick to follow up on my order. I liked the potato and leek soup but fish and chips lacked seasoning which would have made it a better dining experience. The highlight was the live performance of traditional Irish music which is an experience I will never forget. If you are looking for a good spot for food and live music in Dublin, then this is the place.
Darkey Kelly’s was our first pub stop during our stay in Dublin. We sat at the bar and were served by Leon and Tom. Enjoyed the atmosphere and seeing all the law enforcement patches on the walls. Leon was attentive and funny. We ordered the wings and split a hamburger and of course had a pint of Guinness and several other drinks. We arrived at about 3:30 pm and had such a great experience we stayed to listen to their live entertainment. Our last drink at the bar was Irish coffee’s which were truly amazing with perfect foam on top. I would recommend Darkey Kelly’s to anyone looking for fun pub with great bar tending!
A pub in a traditional style with an authentic Irish interior that truly captures the local spirit. The live music adds a special charm and creates a lively, welcoming atmosphere. There was a short wait of about 5–10 minutes for a table at the bar, which felt quite reasonable. The staff were polite and attentive, and the service was quick and efficient. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, exceeding expectations for a pub setting. There is also a wide selection of drinks to choose from, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy the evening. Prices are very reasonable, which makes the overall experience even more enjoyable.
