Well what can I say that hasn't already been said about John Kavanagh The Gravediggers. Travelled all the way from the UK to visit and sample their Guinness and I can honestly say that it didn't disappoint. The pub, the atmosphere and the service were all 10/10. Not often do you enter a pub and instantly have a OMG this place is special feeling. Its is hands down the best pint of Guinness EVER, well worth the flight over and I will most definitely be back again soon, I fact the flights have already been booked.
What a great pub, the staff are so friendly and welcoming. The tapas sty menu is a great idea. Unpretentious hearty food. The waitress recommended some dishes. Guinness was exceptional. Coddle was lovely.
A little bit out of the city center but worth it to get the local vibe. They have a restaurant portion and a bar portion. It was a beautiful day and the bar was packed and overfilling onto the street. We ate food inside the restaurant which wasn’t as crowded. Food was good! A lot of options. The beef stew was really good. They also serve traditional Irish coddle which isn’t always available everywhere. Service was also full of friendly staff. Right next to the cemetery as well, which is very large and cool to walk through before you eat & drink
Very good Irish food with a nice guinness to go with it too! Pork stew was very good and flavourful. Guinness was amongst the best, and since I come from England, Irish Guinness tastes so much better. The taste of Garlic on the Garlic Bread was so sufficient. However, I recommend booking ahead of time as we had to wait almost 2 hours for a table - I wouldn’t’ve expected a pub to be so full!
Wonderful pub steeped in history. Best enjoyed after a misty walk through Glasnevin cemetery. The bar is an old school "no frills" set up where Guinness flows flawlessly while you warm by the fire. After a short wait in the bar the lovely staff called our name to bring us into the restaurant next door. The restaurant is brighter and comfier with a large menu of classic Irish and international dishes. The coddle is a must-try on your first visit, but every dish we have had has been top class. Can't wait to come back again!
